What is IOP?
What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program?
An IOP is a level of addiction and mental health care that's more structured than weekly therapy but doesn't require living at a facility. You attend treatment on a set schedule, then go home. That balance makes IOP a strong fit when you need real clinical support but still have responsibilities to keep up with.
Many people step down into IOP after partial hospitalization (PHP) or detox, and later continue in standard outpatient care. Others start in IOP when their assessment shows it gives enough support.
IOP may be right for you if you:
- Have finished detox or a higher level of care and want continued structure
- Have a stable, supportive place to live
- Need treatment that works around a job, school or family
- Are stepping up from weekly outpatient sessions and need more support
Still need medically supervised detox or 24-hour care? We'll help coordinate it first, then bring you into IOP when you're ready.
